Terms and conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of MoneyWork.org, including its articles, tools, membership features, and messaging programs. Using the website means accepting these terms. Anyone who does not agree with them should stop using the site. Questions about anything on this page can be sent to [email protected].
Eligibility
The website and its messaging programs are intended for people who are 18 years of age or older and located in the United States. By creating an account or opting in to messages, the user confirms meeting both requirements and agrees that all details submitted are truthful and complete.
What MoneyWork provides
MoneyWork publishes money-saving tips, financial guidance, savings alerts, and member resources. The content covers topics such as cutting everyday bills, finding discounts, and building better money habits. Access to articles is free; some features, such as member perks, may require creating an account.
Not financial advice
Everything published on the website is for general information and education only. It is not financial, legal, tax, or investment advice, and it does not take any individual situation into account. Decisions about money should be made carefully, and a licensed professional should be consulted for advice about a specific situation. MoneyWork is not responsible for outcomes that follow from acting on site content.
Accounts and membership
- Account details must be accurate and kept up to date.
- The password protecting an account must be kept confidential. Activity that happens under an account is the responsibility of the account holder.
- A suspected unauthorized use of an account should be reported to [email protected] right away.
- Accounts may be suspended or closed if these terms are violated.
Text messaging program
Opting in to text messages is voluntary and is never a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply depending on the carrier. Reply STOP to any message to cancel, or HELP for assistance. The full messaging terms are in the SMS Policy, joining is described on the Opt-In page, and leaving is described on the Unsubscribe page.
Acceptable use
The website must be used lawfully and respectfully. The following are not allowed:
- Submitting false, misleading, or someone else's information through any form.
- Attempting to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the website or its systems.
- Copying, scraping, or republishing site content at scale without written permission.
- Using the site to send spam, distribute malware, or carry out any unlawful activity.
- Interfering with another person's use of the website.
Intellectual property
The articles, graphics, logos, tools, and other content on the website belong to MoneyWork or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. Content may be read, shared by link, and quoted briefly with attribution. Reproducing substantial portions, or using the MoneyWork name and logo, requires written permission.
Third-party offers and links
Articles may mention or link to products, services, and offers from other companies. Those companies are independent, and their products come with their own terms and policies. MoneyWork does not guarantee any third-party offer, price, or availability, and is not a party to any transaction made with a third party. Reviewing the terms of any outside offer before acting on it is strongly recommended.
Disclaimer of warranties
The website is provided "as is" and "as available". While accuracy is taken seriously, no promise is made that the content is complete, current, or error-free, or that the site will always be available or free of defects. Savings amounts mentioned in articles are examples, not guarantees; actual results depend on individual circumstances.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, MoneyWork is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages - including lost money, lost data, or lost opportunities - arising from the use of, or inability to use, the website or its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
Indemnification
Users agree to defend and hold harmless MoneyWork and its owner from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) that arise from misuse of the website, violation of these terms, or violation of any law or third-party right while using the site.
Dispute resolution and arbitration
Most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally by emailing [email protected]. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it will be settled by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except where the law allows a claim in small-claims court. Disputes must be brought individually; class actions and representative proceedings are waived to the extent the law permits.
Termination
Access to the website or any account may be suspended or ended at any time, with or without notice, if these terms are violated or if the service is discontinued. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive - such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability - continue to apply after termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which MoneyWork operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the website grows or laws change. The current version is always posted on this page, and material changes are noted at the top. Continued use of the website after an update means the revised terms apply.
Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect, and the unenforceable part is replaced with a valid provision that comes closest to the original intent.
